Job Location: Sobat, Twic, Kurmuk and Juba (Roving)
Reporting To: Primary Health Care Coordinator (PHC CO), GOAL South Sudan
Contract Length: 12 monthsStart Date: Immediate
The assistant PHC coordinator will assist the PHC coordinator in the following key areas:-
- Input to, and support of, the coordination/management of all PHC related components (community, preventive, curative health, emergency response) in all areas of operation in South Sudan;
- Travel to the field sites and support the field managers in support supervision of the locally recruited national staff, including supervising the field managers on the effectiveness of their supervision.
- Ensure that relevant MOH policies, protocols and guidelines are implemented within the PHC programme and noting any gaps that need development of internal guidelines to further support the PHC team.
- Assess the training needs of the PHC team in all areas of operation and address the needs with appropriate inputs;
- Ensure effective communication and coordination within the PHC team and with the country office in Juba.
- Liaise with the field based HR Officers on PHC programme HR issues,
- Represent the PHC programme to ensure coordination with all Health actors in the areas of operation as required.
- Ensure that the data collection tools in the field locations are well adhered to and that on the job trainings regarding the tools are done constantly during supervision sessions.
- Provides input into PHC programme planning in order to improve the quality of the PHC services provided;
Requirements
- Fully qualified clinical officer/ BSC nursing who must also be registered to work in his/her country of Origin. Clinical Officers MUST have completed the 1 year internship programme.
- Previous experience in PHC/health programmes in management/coordination position and working with international organisations/agencies in Southern Sudan an added advantage.
- Experience in liaising with other organisations and government officials
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Staff management experience and good inter-personal skills
- IT literate
