Population Services International Research Coordinator Jobs.

ACTwatch is a multi-country project of Population Services International designed to provide and promote evidence and recommendations for policy makers on methods to increase availability and decrease the consumer price of quality assured artemisinin-based combination therapies through the private sector.
In Kenya, the results will form part of the baseline for the Independent Evaluation of the Affordable Medicines Facility – Malaria. The study will be implemented in close collaboration with the firm leading the Independent Evaluation.
Population Services International is currently looking to hire a research coordinator in the month of June to fill the post of Research Coordinator in its Nairobi Office. This position lasts for a minimum of six months with possibilities of extension to an additional three months.

Description:
Reporting to the Research Director, the position is responsible for coordinating the implementation of baseline outlet survey in Kenya. The Research Coordinator will:
Modify research protocols, questionnaires and tools in collaboration with the DOMC, ACTwatch Central and the Independent Evaluator
•Seek ethical clearance
•Hire field workers, facilitate trainings and supervise data collection ensuring that minimum standards are met
•Oversee data entry and cleaning
•Develop work plans to ensure that project deliverables are met on time and on budget
•Liaise with other partners including the DOMC and maintain relations
•Contribute to results interpretation and report preparation with ACTwatch Central team.
•Disseminate findings
Requirements:
•Post graduate degree (MSc, MPH, etc.) in statistics, demography, epidemiology or other related field.
•Previous experience conducting national level quantitative field research (training, supervision, quality assurance) and capacity-building.
•Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative research methods and market research, preferably related to malaria.
•Familiarity with antimalarial medicines, dosing formulations and generic/brand names preferred.
•Experience in using GPS equipment to capture spatial data is desired but not mandatory
•Excellent written and verbal English for the development of reports, tables and presentations.
