Coffee Trainee Adept Kenya Jobs.

Reporting to : Trader and no direct reports
Location : Nairobi
Job Summary
Our client- a multi-national commodity trader – seeks to employ a graduate with a Business or Agricultural degree, as a trainee – to undergo 12 months of full time immersion and training in East Africa; within the coffee platform (“division”) with the intention that the successful trainee will find full time employment with the organization in East Africa.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
· To undergo comprehensive in-country training and immersion within , but not limited to, the
following trading disciplines:

o Origination; selling; supplier & customer management; market risk management
through futures; quality control through “cupping”; shipping; logistics; supply and
demand data analysis etc

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in economics, finance, mathematics, food science and technology,
agribusiness or a related discipline.
· No experience required this is a trainee position suitable for a graduate but East African
nationals will be given preference
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
· Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong quantitative skills
· Basic knowledge of statistics and probability concepts (e.g., supply and demand relationships,
analysis of price relationships).
· Solid Sensory ability
· Ability to work; learn independently and handle multiple priorities-multi-tasking
· Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment
· Is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving
results
· Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges
· Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; Solicits input by genuinely
valuing others’ ideas and expertise;
· Able to use PC, telephone, fax machine.
· Decision Making/Accountability: Exercises judgment, within established parameters, to arrive at
appropriate decisions and actions for the purpose of adding value to the firm.
