World Concern International, a Christian Relief and Development Organization, wishes to recruit a qualified and competent person for the following position.

Position: Water and Sanitation Program Manager
 Work Station: Nairobi with frequent travel to field locations

Contract Length: One year Initial contract with possibility of renewal

Major Responsibilities:
  • To identify specific locations of Watsan structures for rehabilitation or construction.
  • To create appropriate drawings and designs and bills of quantities for Watsan facilities.
  • To supervise the rehabilitation and construction of approved Watsan structures.
  • To create and train local water committees in participatory maintenance of Watsan facilities.
  • To develop concepts and/or proposals for funding future Watsan programming.
  • To prepare financial and narrative progress reports as per the Grants Compliance Plans.
Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Water Engineering with three years experience or a Diploma a least five years experience in water and sanitation programming in a humanitarian context.
  • Strong understanding of rural water supplies, usage and sanitation issues.
  • Understanding of budget management and working to meet grant objectives/indicators.
  • Familiarity with social factors impacting behaviour and community mobilization.
  • Previous experience in working within a Muslim environment preferred.
  • Good command of both written/oral English and Kiswahili
  • Language ability in Maasai, Somali, Boni and/or Bajuni will be an added advantage.
  • Functional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit is required.
